Our Story
TukTuking was born in 2017 when Alexis Freitas, a Madeira native with a deep love for his island, decided to share its hidden gems in the most authentic way possible. What started as a single tuk tuk touring the cobblestone streets of Funchal has grown into one of Madeira's most-loved tour operators, consistently rated 5 out of 5 by guests on TripAdvisor.
Today, our small but passionate team of local guides — Alexis, Ricky, and Tom — leads private tuk tuk tours through Funchal's historic alleys, clifftop viewpoints, and colourful fishing villages every single day. Every route we run, we have walked, driven, and lived. That local knowledge is something no generic coach tour or guidebook can replicate.
